Circle-Hovering & Safe-Circling
Now Drone is widely used both as a toy and sports equipment. Though few people get confused about a feature called as Circle-Hovering and Safe-Circling. The confusion arises due to similar names of the feature. But they’re quite a different options.
Circle-Hovering is mostly liked by the sports flyers. Setting the Circle-Hovering means that the Drone will fly around the pilot in a safe distance while recording video.
In contrast, Safe-Circling means the radius Drone will circle around the pilot without hurting the pilot. The Safe-Circle feature varies brand to brand, but typically the range is 8 meters or 26 feet approximately from the controller radius. The beginner must look for the feature if they don’t want to get hurt by Drone propellers.

The Geo-Fence/No Fly Zone
The Highest limit set for Drone elevation is maximum 121 meters or 400 feet, and in the USA it is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA. So, focus on the Drone that has a built-in feature like No Fly Zone & cross-checks with the manufacturer that their product is compatible with FAA regulations. For example, the Drone should not support flying over 15 miles radius of any airport and White House. At least notify the pilot that they’re trying to fly inside over a restricted area. Likewise No Fly Zone the Geo-Fence works on the same principle, but they might not support the FAA regulations. However, Geo-Fence is widely used my beginners around the world. With Geo-Fence the pilot can set up a specific flying radius so that the Drone stays and flies inside a specific boundary.
For the same reason, many beginners prefer to buy Yuneeq drone. As this Drone has a flying limit of 91 meters or 300 feet from the grounded pilot position.
Smart Tracking Feature
The smart tracking feature has different names in various Drone models with a little difference in their working preferences. For example, Selfie Mode, Tracking Mode, Watch Me, Look-down, or Follow me, etc.
In some of the Drone models, there are multiple features exist. Such as both Follow Me and Tracking Mode options. The basic difference between Follow Tracking Mode and me is pre-program. In Follow Me, the Drone actively follows you while recording. In contrast, Tracking Mode, you can pre-program the altitude and range to be followed (Both start and end point) for the Drone. So the pilot can focus on recording.
For example, Holy Stone’s Drone supports Look-Down Mode similar to the Tracking Mode. On the other hand, DJI Mavic supports both Tracking Mode and Follow Me.
Automatic Landing System
According to my experience, the most important feature of the Drone is the Automatic Landing System because many of the beginners have reported that they lose control within their first several flights and crashed badly or landed in the wrong location.
Automatic Landing System works by collaborating with the grounded transmitter. In the basic drone model “Home” means the place from where the Drone took off. In case of any hazardous situation, the Drone comes back to the same place. For example, losing signals from the Radio Controller.
But the advanced Drone offers more options as a pilot can pre-program the “Home” location of Drone by using the GPS or Compass system. So, be careful before taking off and cross-check the “Home” Location each time. Because if the GPS cannot collaborate with the controller, you might lose the Drone forever. As wrongly set “Home” will force the onboard system to land on an arbitrary location.
There are some drones available in the market where you’ll find a switch to call back your Drone to “Home.” Depending on the quality of the Drone the accuracy might vary with similar other models. Some Drones are very precise, but few drones will make you sweat to land in automatic mode due to the bad accuracy of the system.
I have read about Drone for the first time ever in a newspaper during the Iraq war. After a few years, I have seen a Drone in a Hollywood movie. During in my Engineering studies that was my first chance to come across the Drone physically. In that project, we’ve built a Drone which can fly up to 3 storeyed building. The Drone was capable of flying up to 30-40 feet approximately and can fly 3-5 minutes on an average. But it was also able to capture videos by a cam-coder which was fun to see later on. That was my first ever experience of Drone.
However, today Drone has become a Toy. Drone made a long run in the last decade. Today Drone is not limited into the warfare but used both for the commercial and individual purposes in great extent. As a result, many manufacturers are producing Drone for different purposes. For the same reason, it’s hard to make a purchase among 100s even 1000s of models with different features and price tags.
When I’ve bought my first ever Drone from Amazon for baiting, I remember how much confuse I was? So, I have gone through many models and used customer feedbacks with some expert tips using google to make my decision. After that, I have purchased many models, and today I am writing these article for those people who are confused to make a decision about their 1st Drone.
